Tatsuro Kiuchi and Paul Rogers honored by the Society of Illustrators





Tatsuro Kiuchi and Paul Rogers will both have artwork exhibited at Illustrators 51 at the Museum of American Illustration in New York. The show runs from January 7 to March 28 in three separate categories. Please visit the SOI website below to see the dates for each category.

Tatsuro Kiuchi had six illustrations chosen for the show, including "The Snow Angel" for the 2007 Starbucks Holiday Campaign and "It Never Is," an illustration for a story about Texas Hold'em in Hemispheres magazine. 3 x 3 Magazine and American Illustration have already honored "Travelling with Four-Legged Friends." "Ya-te-veo," the man-eating tree, was also selected for the American Illustration annual. The last two winners are "Better Days," an illustration for an elder care magazine, and "The Apple Store in Ginza," a personal piece for the group exhibition of the Tokyo Illustrators Society.

Paul Rogers has an illustration of Ralph Branca done in his sketchbook style. The illustration was for an American Express coffee table book of charter card members designed by VSA Partners.

Heflinreps American Illustration 27 Winners







Our artists Greg Clarke, Miguel Gallardo, Tatsuro Kiuchi, and Rutu Modan have artwork selected for the AI 27 annual book due out in February 2009. Joe Morse and Ilene Winn-Lederer also have pieces chosen for the website.

Greg Clarke has a series of six images he did for Real Simple Magazine selected called "You've Got Mice." He also has a New York Times Book Review cover chosen for the website only. Miguel Gallardo has a personal piece called "Barcelona Skyline" selected for the book and three other editorial images chosen for the website.

Tatsuro Kiuchi has three works selected: "Pass the Cheer," part of the 2007 Starbucks holiday campaign, "Ya-te-veo," an illustration for the book Beasts!, and "New Year Travel," an illustration of animals on a plane that also received the Bronze medal in the 3x3 Pro Show.

Rutu Modan will have "Stranger's Eyes" published in the annual, an image for a CD booklet. Chosen for the website are Joe Morse's illustration of "Snoop Dog" for Rolling Stone and two images by Ilene Winn-Lederer, "Betrayal & Rebellion," and "The Beast of Mass Destruction." They are both from her upcoming book, "Between Heaven & Earth," from Pomegranate.

Heflinreps Welcomes New Artist Sonia Pulido





Sonia Pulido has recently joined our illustration agency. Sonia lives in Spain and has illustrated for Anaya, Les Editions de la Cerise, El Pais newspaper, and Rockdelux magazine. She likes to have a series of elements that evoke stories in the observer, allowing many different interpretations.

Many Political Illustrations during Fall of 2008



Heflinreps continues to receive assignments for illustrations of world leaders by our artists. Hanoch Piven completed three portraits of Barack Obama for Golf Digest, The Progressive, and Esquire UK edition and Angela Merkel for Newsweek. Barack Obama was also the subject of illustrations by Paul Rogers for a Weekly Reader poster and Miguel Gallardo for La Vanguardia newspaper.

Paul Rogers illustrates the 2008 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade advertisements


Macy's recently selected our artist Paul Rogers to illustrate the advertising campaign for the 82nd Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. Macy's used the illustrations in stores, on the Macy's parade website, as well as in print advertising.
