Tatsuro Kiuchi illustrates Pen Still Writes and The Sea, The Sea

Pen Still Writes is a 193-page collection of monochrome works that artist Tatsuro Kiuchi selected himself. He says, "They are illustrations for various novels by various writers that have appeared in newspapers and magazines. Along with being the name of my studio, the title, Pen Still Writes, alludes to the literature I illustrate." Tatsuro created all the illustrations in this book digitally with Adobe Photoshop. Tatsuro made this book as a sample to promote on-demand printing, and will send it to you for a shipping and handling fee. Contact him at info@tatsurokiuchi.com to order a copy. Please visit the Dreamers Rise blog below for a review of the book.

Tatsuro also recently illustrated a collector's edition of The Sea, The Sea for The Folio Society. The buckram-bound edition is available at the Folio Society website listed below. The color illustrations shown here are from The Sea, The Sea. In March 2010, The Sea, The Sea was chosen as a joint winner in the Design Week editorial design category. See the last website for details.

Beegee Tolpa illustrates a Target gift card

Target is now selling the "Reindeer Games" gift card illustrated by our artist Beegee Tolpa. Beegee says, "It was a really fun project to work on. Little & Company, the designers, had a clear idea of what they wanted when we started, so there weren't many revisions. Or any, I think! They approved the first thing I sent in. It's gratifying to work for a client like Target because I shop there so much!" Although it doesn't show on the scan, the medals on the reindeer are reflective gold foil.
