Forever Young illustrated by Paul Rogers is in bookstores now

Paul Rogers has illustrated a new children's book, Forever Young, by Bob Dylan. Ginee Seo and Ann Bobco at Simon and Schuster/Atheneum Books called Paul to work on the project, and they didn’t have to ask him twice. Since this is one of Dylan’s most loved songs, Paul said that his job was to not screw it up, and to do something that Bob would like. The illustrations parallel the lyrics of the song by telling the story of a kid growing up and making connections to people and to the world around him. For Dylan fans, Paul tucked a lot of references to Dylan's life and lyrics into the drawings. Most of them are listed in the Illustrator's Notes section of the book, but some are left for the readers to discover themselves.

Simon and Schuster has created a promotional trailer for the book that includes Dylan's music, and they will be distributing it soon. Paul was also interviewed by Publisher's Weekly about his work on the book.
Forever Young has won First Place, Children's Trade, Hardcover Picturebooks (non-fiction) at the 2009 New York Book Show. The show is on March 24.
