Roy Fox and Blue Q team up for a new line of teas

Roy Fox recently illustrated the packaging for a new line of teas being sold by Blue Q. The Easy Pleasy teas are Peach and Ginger, Earl Grey, and Red Rooibos flavors.

Roy says, "It's always a thrill to work with the Blue Q creatives to develop new products. This exploration was especially exciting for me since they were developing a line of organic teas from scratch. The only given was the size and shape of the box. The brand name, imagery, flavors and even the brewing directions were all open to examination. I wanted to pay homage to the great oriental tea lines of the past, while developing a theme to maintain consistency throughout the different flavors, yet still allow for quirks and spontaneity."

3x3 Magazine features Tatsuro Kiuchi

Issue Fifteen of 3x3 Magazine is now out, and it includes a feature on artist Tatsuro Kiuchi. Our own Naoki Mitsuse wrote the article and included information about Tatsuro's techniques and use of texture. The article also discusses Tatsuro's use of ma (or negative space) in his work. Tatsuro says, "The ma of the illustration is as important in Japan as 'concept' is in the U.S." The article includes a mini-retrospective of his work, including his children's books. Visit 3x3's website to get your copy today.
