Tough subjects such as solitary confinement, the death penalty and Memorial Day treated with respect and a deft hand by Owen Freeman, a regular contributor to The New York Times.
Sally Heflin, founder of heflinreps graduated in 1983 with a BA in Fine Arts from the Kansas City Art Institute and began her career in Chicago managing a traditional illustration studio. A year later, she moved to New York and worked for a custom printer, managing design and advertising accounts. During this time, she got a Masters in Media Studies from The New School for Social Research. The combination of industry and academia led Sally to consider a more commercial art profession, and she pursued an associate agent position with a well-known NY illustration agent, where she worked for four years. In 1996, Sally started heflinreps and began working with an agency based in London, forming a bi-costal alliance representing international artists. In addition to representing established artists, Heflinreps has a strong interest in working with recent graduates of illustration and design who show strong potential.
